The Challenge
As an executive financial advisor consistently ranked among the top planners with Investors Group, Paul Vaillancourt wanted to establish an individual brand for his practice. Given past success with referrals and existing relationships, the challenge was to strike a balance in promoting the very strong Investors Group brand, while presenting a unique value proposition for Mr. Vaillancourt's individual practice. Ingenium Communications was engaged to develop a turnkey suite of high impact, quality marketing products to effectively position Paul Vaillancourt in the context of the Investors Group messaging and identity.

The Solution
The process was guided by Ingenium Communications' sound approach to project management focused on delivering quality products on time, on budget and to the full satisfaction of the client. Ingenium designed a comprehensive collection of marketing collateral materials using the following methodology:

  • Conduct in-depth primary research with selected clients of Paul Vaillancourt's practice identifying attributes that resonated with them
  • Work collaboratively with the client, his team and peers seeking out valuable perspectives and insights
  • Secure specialized partners (creative agency, photographers etc.) to provide a highly customized professional approach to production which was critical given the nature of the brand and clientele
  • Develop strong, effective messaging that communicated a value proposition suitable for a broad range of clients
The Results
The design and delivery of high impact collateral pieces made significant contributions to positioning the "Paul Vaillancourt" brand, uniquely and strategically, among clients as well as within the Investor's Group and the financial community. The client was invited to present on referral generation to Financial Consultants across Canada and was selected as winner of the 2005 Top 40 under 40. The client has described the value and the importance of the brochure and his brand positioning as critical elements of a successful financial planner.
